Mold Repair and Modification Process
There are several reasons to choose rotational molding over other plastic production techniques. When it comes to producing plastic products, the rotational molding system makes almost anything possible.
Identification
Accurate identification of the mold type, material, and extent of damage, along with precise coordination between the welder and supervising engineer.
Cleaning
All areas requiring repair must be cleaned to prevent the formation of microscopic cracks.
Pre-Heating (Micro-TIG)
Depending on the size and extent of the damage, if the mold is made of steel, it must undergo micro-TIG welding. First, the part is pre-heated.
Welding the Damaged Area
By selecting the appropriate welding wire and an experienced welder, a satisfactory penetration and weld can be achieved.
Re-Heating
After welding, machining, and polishing the surface, the area must be reheated to eliminate residual stress.
Final Inspection
After the gradual cooling process, the customer and experts carefully inspect the repaired area. Once the quality is confirmed, the final mold is delivered to the customer.
